التقى وفد من أعضاء الهيئة الإداربة للجمعية الآشورية الخيرية_العراق ممثلةً بالسيد بطرس ايشو والسيد ايرميا سركون مع كادر من موظفي الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية USAID _ مكتب المبادرة الانتقالية وبحضور السيد ستيفن فاكن القنصل الأمريكي العام في أربيل، الى جانب حضور ممثلي لجنة اعمار برطلة وذلك في يوم الاثنين الموافق 30 أيلول 2019 بمقر القنصلية الامريكية العامة في اربيل.
وتضمن اللقاء توقيع اتفاقية عمل مشترك بدعم من مكتب المبادرة الانتقالية للوكالة USAID لإعادة تأهيل عدد من المحلات التجارية في قضاء الحمدانية _ بغديدا، حيث أشار وفد الجمعية على أهمية المشروع في تعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والتمسك بالأرض لمكونات سهل نينوى وضرورة توفير الدعم الممكن للعائدين إلى سهل نينوى، وقد أكد القنصل العام وكادر الوكالة من جانبهم على أهمية الاستمرار بتقديم الدعم اللازم من اجل تمكين الأقليات في سهل نينوى.
AAS-Iraq Participates in A Meeting with USAID at The US General Consulate in Erbil
On Monday, Sep. 30th 2019, at the headquarters of the US Consulate General, a delegation from the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq represented by Mr. Patros Isho and Mr. Eramia Sargon participated in a meeting with USAID – Office Transitional Initiative with attendance of Mr. Steven Fagin, US Consul General in Erbil, in addition to the participation of employees of the USAID/OTI and representatives of the Reconstruction Committee in Bartella.
The meeting included the signing of the agreement on a project between the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq and the USAID / ICRI, which includes the rehabilitation for a number of shops in Hamdaniya district – Baghdida, where the delegation of the AASI pointed to the importance of the project in promoting the social and economic cohesion of the components of the Nineveh Plain, the need to provide possible support for returnees in the Nineveh Plain.
For their part, the US Consul General and USAID staff stressed the importance of continuing to provide the necessary support for the empowerment of minorities in the Nineveh plain.
