Hundreds of Mosul Citizens Celebrate the Assyrian Babylonian New Year by the Walls of the City of Nineveh.

More than 1,000 Mosul citizens celebrated the anniversary of the Assyrian Babylonian New Year known as Akito at the Gate of Adad, which was destroyed by ISIS in 2015. The initiative was lead by Gilgamesh Center which focuses on the protection of archeological & historical sites, headed by its President Dr. Faisal Jaber. The event also included the support of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, Ms. Juliana Taimoorazy who came from the United States of America, President of the Assyrian Aid Society in Iraq, Mr. Ashur Sargon, and the official of the Assyrian Aid Society of Chicago, Ms. Rania Benjamin. The Administrative Court of Baghdad approves the decision to dismiss charges against Faiez Jahwareh and return him to his post as Mayor of Alqosh District

After the demonstrations organized by the Communist Party of Iraq and the Assyrian Democratic Movement in Alqosh against the decision to dismiss Faiez Abed Mikha (Jahwareh), Mayor of Alqosh District, in addition to the support of the people of Alqosh, and the pressure of our people around the world and the efforts of Al-Rafidain Members of Parliament, the Administrative Court in Baghdad responded to the decision to return Mr. Faiez Jahwareh to his position as Mayor of Alqosh. ADM Secretary General MP Yonadam Kanna alongside Deputy Secretary General MP Imad Youkhana visited the town of Tesqopa (Teleskof). Ms. Shemiran Denkha, Director of the Office of Civil Society Organizations of the Assyrian Democratic Movement met Mrs. Ibtisam Aziz Ali, Director General of the Iraqi Women’s Empowerment Department in her office at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The meeting discussed the general situation in Iraqi society, as well as challenges facing women in all areas of life. The focus was on what can be provided to women who suffered from the conditions of displacement and migration, and assist survivors of ISIS and integrate them into society. Iraqi Interior Ministry announces suspects in the recent Christian family murder in Baghdad

The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 the arrest of a group of people suspected of involvement in the murder of a Christian family in Baghdad. A spokesman for the ministry, Maj. Gen. Saad Maan said in an interview with Alsumaria News, “The follow-up of the Minister of Interior and the Baghdad Operations Command arrested a number of people suspected of involvement in the murder of the Christian family yesterday in Baghdad.” “The detainees were referred to the investigation,” Maan said. Dr. Marleen Awisha Hormiz receives her PhD from the College of Media at the University of Baghdad

On Thursday, January 1st 2018, at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, and after hours of thesis dissertation, the researcher Marleen Awisha Hormiz was awarded a PhD with excellence on her research thesis titled, Employment of Social Networking Sites in the Psychological War Directed to the Iraqi Society (Daash messages in Twitter for example).
